With first year head coach Dustin Fox at the helm, the Chanute High School girls basketball team is experiencing a fresh start under new management.
Being a first year coach can be very challenging.
“Anytime you’re in your first year the inexperience could be a factor, with the girls getting used to a new system and new expectations.” Said head girls coach Dustin Fox.
But the expectations are still high for this year’s team.
“No matter if it’s your first, second, or tenth year, the expectations are always to win. We have a good group of girls that offers that opportunity to us.” Said Fox.
With four returning seniors and very talented and athletic Junior and Sophomore class it should offer some depth to the team which will be need to assist the new style of play.
“We have a very athletic group of girls that I’m excited about because it will allow us to play fast and tough defense.”
The girls will open practice on Monday.
