About The Comet

The Comet is the award-winning newspaper publication of Chanute High School in Chanute, KS. Since its creation in 2008, The Comet has earned three All-Kansas awards. The Comet’s dedicated staff produces nine print issues per year.

The journalism program has also excelled recently, placing second in the Class 4A Kansas Scholastic Press Association State Contest in 2011 and third in 2010.

Since we’ve just recently moved online, thecometonline.com is currently a work in progress. Eventually it will contain everything in the print version, and will also be updated regularly and provide readers with additional content – more stories, more photos, video and audio.
